Located in southwestern France stretching the entire northern border of Spain, is a range of mythical mountains known as the Pyrenees. Home to a strong mountain culture and slow rural roads, the Pyrenees are a famous mecca for cyclists the world over. This unforgettable trip starts in Bagneres-du-Luchon, a thermal spa village in the heart of the central Pyrenees. It’s also the junction for several famous Tour de France climbs including the Peyresourde, Portillon, Col de Mente, Portet d’Aspet and the Port de Bales.
Basing ourselves for two days and two nights in each lush river valley, you’ll have plenty of time to ride and still explore the mountain hamlets and friendly locals nestled between some of the most beautiful mountains in the world. We’ll stay in our favorite charming hotels and mountain auberges where the local Pyrenean style and food is rich and authentic.
