Sitting off the western tip of the southern most point of Italy is the mysterious island of Sicily. For millenia, the island has been fought after, built-up and knocked down, preserved and robbed. Through it all, Sicily maintains a raw and natural beauty, and the perfect backdrop for exotic island cycling.
The rides. The Sicilian cycling landscape is as rich as its food. From the turquoise shores of Cefalù to the slopes of Mt. Etna, this tour is designed for endurance cyclists who enjoy challenging scenic climbs on remote passes with drop dead views. The trip culminates with a ride up the north side of Mt. Etna, a course featured in the 2011 Giro d’Italia. The rides are designed for experienced cyclists with distances averaging 40-50 miles/day on undulating to hilly terrain. We’ll have a few short special stops along the way for espressos, wine tastings and, of course, the best Gelato in the world.
This trip is guided and fully supported with SAG vehicle but designed so that you never have to get in a car.
