Wheeling, Wine & Mont Ventoux!

From the Mediterranean coast to the Alpine foothills, Provence is a region rich in so many wonders. Most travelers visit for the endless sun and slow living. But for road bike junkies, Provence is also an international mecca for quiet tertiary roads and loop rides year around.

Our cycling trips are based in the remote regions of the Vaucluse, north of Avignon and all around the base of Ventoux. It’s here, you’ll find cycling clubs from around the world sipping their morning espressos, warming up in the vineyards, racing up Ventoux. By late afternoon, cyclists congregate in the charming villages of Malaucene or Bedoin soaking up the atmosphere over a post-ride crepe and cold beer.

The Rides: Other than the obvious, the beauty of Provence is the variety of cycling terrain on quiet rural roads. There are flat river deltas, twisting gorges, passes averaging 4-6% and, of course, the mighty Mt. Ventoux. While our days are designed for avid cyclists, it’s very possible to run custom trips with much softer itineraries. For Ventoux only, it’s highly recommended that you arrive with sufficiently low gears and large appetite for a monumental climb.
